Grace & Salt

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt – Colossians 4:6

The Time Is Fulfilled

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.” — Mark 1:15

These were among the first words Jesus preached as He began His ministry. Simple, direct, and powerful. In a single sentence, Jesus proclaimed the arrival of something new and eternal. It’s a message that carries both urgency and hope.

The time is fulfilled.
For generations, the people of Israel had been waiting. They longed for the Messiah, the One the prophets spoke of, who would rescue and restore. And now, Jesus announces that the wait is over. God’s appointed time had come. Jesus was not just a good teacher or a prophet, He was the fulfillment of all that had been promised.

This reminds us that God is never late. We often struggle with waiting, whether for answers to prayer, direction, or breakthrough. But God’s timing is always perfect. He works according to His purpose, not our schedule. When we trust Him with our timelines, we rest in the assurance that He knows what He’s doing.

The kingdom of God is at hand.
This was not merely a political statement or a call for social reform. Jesus was announcing the arrival of God’s reign. His active rule in the hearts and lives of people. The kingdom was not just future, it was present, breaking into the world through Christ. His miracles, His teaching, and His love were all evidence that God’s kingdom had come near.

Today, the kingdom is still at hand. Every time a heart turns to Christ, every time love overcomes hate, every time righteousness shines in a dark place, the kingdom is advancing. And we’re invited not only to witness it but to be part of it.

Repent, and believe in the gospel.
Jesus doesn’t just inform, He invites. Repentance is more than feeling sorry; it’s a turning away from sin and turning toward God. Belief in the gospel is more than mental agreement; it’s trusting Christ fully for salvation and following Him with your life.

This message is just as relevant now as it was then. The time is still now. The kingdom is still near. The call is still the same. Repent. Believe. And walk with Jesus today.
